Cultivated meat starts with high-quality cells. A repeatable and predictable large-scale bioprocess requires predictability and stability in the chosen cell line.

Through a robust process of characterisation and cell banking we ensure that our iPSCs and ESCs are capable of meeting the demands of  biomanufacturing.

We have developed highly-sensitive species-specific assays which allow us to assess our cells and media formulations during banking and scale-up, and post harvest. These assays also support our customers with regulatory food safety assessments.

Scale-up and differentiation packages

iPSCs and ESCs are uniquely positioned for large-scale biomanufacturing.

Our robust cells grow repeatably and predictably at fast doubling times to high densities in suspension culture in bioreactors, and maintain the ability to differentiate.

We provide protocols – for scale up and for differentiation to fat and muscle – and technical transfer, enabling our customers to quickly repeat and build on our results.

Our media development programme targets food-safe formulations and superior cell performance at low cost.
